Ndgebormei Development Organisation (NDO) was the first registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in the Republic of Sierra Leone. The Founder, Mr. John Ganda was a brilliant man who spoke 5 languages and traveled wide and far internationally. He was a resource for the Government and local NGOs' seeking consultation and advise on grant writing, program management, and international relations. He embarked on a sizeable project to build a clinic that would serve Bumpeh and all the surrounding towns and villages in Bo District. After his passing, Alpha Foundation and Bread & Water for Africa took the initiative to overhaul and complete the modern health center that would serve the Bumpeh Ngao Chiefdom as part of his legacy. Upon completion of the facility and establishing an administrative and control mechanism to ensure continuity, the project was transferred to Yema Ganda, the very capable and diligent daughter of the founder.
